chalkboard paint: a nerd's dream come true

so i read a blog called apartment therapy LA (the also have a NYC version) to inspire me to better design and decorate my apartment. thus far, i've changed nothing - but in my defense i'm moving out in five months so i don't want to make big changes that i'll only have to take down. but i am thinking about what i might do in my new place come the fall.

and i came across the coolest concept, at least if you're a nerd like me. painting your walls with chalkboard paint. now all your walls can double as chalkboards!!!

let's stop for a second and acknowledge a few things:

1. chalkboard walls are super awesome
2. i am a nerd and admittedly like writing on chalkboards
3. they also double as a cool textured black wall
4. why the hell did i not know about this early???

doing a quick google search i realized that most people do this on a wall in their kitchen, which makes a lot of sense. i would love to write down what dinner was on a chalk before before inviting friends over.

the photo above is a guy who make one of his bedroom walls into a chalkboard and drew a design on it. i 'm not sure if it's in chalk or something else, but the concept is pretty cool.
