this is a photo from my only solo shoot of a male model. i've done a couple with groups that included men, but this is the only one that i did of a guy. i think we were going for a very euro look, especially since it complemented his look. the great thing about it was the location find. it was in the middle of nowhere in LA and there was a black dumpster that had gold spray paint on it. now mind you, not yellow, gold. that's hard to find, and generally super awesome.
as with all things in life, the little details are what make things great. the black dumpster was actually originally green and the black paint was peeling off, to give you another color to the right. that helped to add that urban edge that i was hoping for (along with the graffiti of course).
i did have a key learning at the end of the shoot, i don't know how to pose male models. since i work primarily with women, i don't know the masculine poses that best feature men. it was a frustrating experience, that's probably why i haven't shot one since.
no shoot diagram on this one... there wasn't much to it, just available light. no bounces, no strobes, just plain and simple.
iso: 100
aperture: f/4
shutter speed: 1/250
exposure compensation: -0.3
focal length: 84mm
