i <3 audrey

audrey's work is probably one of the first living illustrators that i knew of and loved. she had a gallery showing in LA a couple years ago and it was literally overrun with people. now to be fair it was a small gallery in silver lake, but it was spilling over onto the street and there was a huge line just to get in to see the pieces. i would almost describe it as locusts. i'm glad to say that it was totally worth it.

her pieces which are almost all of women have an eeiry beauty to them. they often has a mix of sexuality and death in them and sometimes draw from japanese motifs (both art and pop culture - read 'anime'). unfortunately purchasing a piece is very difficult - but i would seriously consider it if i could get my hands on one.
